Douglas E. Shayne

Guided by a strong memory, good communication skills, and being a natural people-person, Douglas E. Shayne has excelled as a legal professional for more than 20 years. Backed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence from New York Law School, he launched his career as an associate attorney at Hayes Finger & Wenick before advancing to Kahn Gordon Timko & Rodriques and then Nicoletti Gonson & Spinner. He subsequently found success as a senior trial attorney at Brecher, Fishman, Pasternack, Walsh, Tilker & Ziegler, and at Cellino & Barnes. A managing trial attorney at Khavison & Associates, P.C. for four years, he has been the managing trial partner at Blumen & Shayne PLLC since 2019.

With expertise in litigation, personal injury, and medical malpractice, Mr. Shayne’s responsibilities at the firm include being active as a trial attorney, management, and operational oversight regarding insurance companies and other attorneys, among several administrative duties. Finding it rewarding to serve others, he prioritizes helping his clients and their families attain justice. A notable achievement was his work in a multimillion-dollar malpractice case, which resulted in justice for a dying client and his family. Over the course of his career, he has achieved more than 30 individual settlement/verdict results worth more than $1 million each.

As a testament to his integrity and accomplishments in and out of the courtroom, Mr. Shayne has been listed among the Top 100 National Trial Attorneys in 2021, 2022, and 2023. He was also named among the 2021 Lawyers of Distinction Power Lawyers and the 2022 Top 10 National Association of Personal Injury Attorneys. In addition, he was recently included in the 2023 Top 10 from Attorney and Practice Magazine. He has further dedicated himself to his field as a longtime member of the National Association of Personal Injury Attorneys, National Trial Lawyers, and Lawyers of Distinction.

In the next five to 10 years, Mr. Shayne hopes to branch out to other states and expand his business presence throughout New York City, including staff members and associates. With a natural acumen to the legal profession, Mr. Shayne’s business motto is “We fight and win for you.”
